This year the City of Richardson Public Services Department and the Richardson Police Department have teamed up to help fight crime and recycle at the same time. Criminals that cruise the alleys looking for opportunities may notice your discarded packages left over from Christmas. Don’t put your new computer or flat screen TV box out for trash pickup, instead recycle and help reduce your chances of becoming the next victim of a burglary. To help you accomplish this, additional recycle locations will be temporarily established starting December 23rd and will be removed on January 4th 2010. Please remove any interior packaging material that is not paper and take the cardboard box to any of these 5 locations.
2003 E. Renner Rd. – Richardson Police Substation
700 W. Renner Rd. – Custer Park (near the tennis courts)
1500 Apollo Rd. – the old Huffhines Rec Center (near the tennis courts)
5200 Park Vista – Breckinridge Park (near the baseball complex)
102 N. Cottonwood – Recycle Center (permanent location, will take all recyclable items)
If you prefer to throw those boxes away, place them in a black bag so they will not be easily identified from your other trash.
